Dearest one,
I came to terms with my tendency towards being solitary many, many years ago (after a brief but frenzied period of forced extroversion).
I embrace this aspect of my personality in the same way I do my brown eyes, or my round bottom (which has surprisingly become super trendy. Who knew?).
It is a way of being that works for me in my artistic and personal pursuits.
And still…
Something is missing.
Although my Soul-tribe is numerous, we are far flung. I don’t lack community, but the idea of dropping into a neighbor’s kitchen for a cup of tea and a heart-felt conversation remains unfulfilled.
There are so many of us. And there is so much to share.
I want…
- to be in the presence of thinking-feeling folks.
- a safe, supportive space to ask questions, express opinions and hear how others navigate parenting, partnering, money-making and soul-tending.
- to speak my truth about the world around me, and hear others’, both in agreement and not.
I want conference, communion, collaboration, compassion.
I even want conscious debate, questioning and expressive freedom.
My longing pierces me, and opens the door to sparks of knowing and crazy ideas that just might work.
Here’s what the dream looks like:
A series of casual in-person events in the regions I frequent – NY/NJ, LA, Seattle. In family rooms, community clubs, co-working spaces and fabulous rooftops. (Maybe there’s an online component too, but for now I crave bodies in rooms, together.)
I would be moderator, facilitator and occasional agitator.
Maybe we bring partners and talk about modern love.
Maybe we bring teenagers and talk about parenting.
Maybe we sip wine and sigh, marveling at the miracle of a tiny respite from constant doing.
Maybe… (a million more ideas).
It’s big, people.
- Does this idea tickle your spirit?
- Is there something you’d love to share but don’t feel confident in your current community to hold the space?
- Can you use support in a non-judgmental space to give voice to what’s in your heart?
- Got questions?
- Got answers?
I WANT TO BUILD THIS.
Will you come?
I’m here – ready, willing and able.
Let’s make this happen.
Here’s to togetherness,
Pascale
P.S. I want to hear from you. Contact me or hit me up on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter. Seriously. I mean it.
